One Trip, Not Two: How Same-Day Starts Work
At a lot of orthodontic offices, the consultation and the day braces go on are two separate appointments. From Page County, that’s two round trips before treatment even begins.
We do it differently. Dr. Giardina can usually create your treatment plan within hours, so if treatment makes sense and you’re ready, we can start that same day.
- Day one: exam, records, and a treatment plan
- Go home and wait for a placement appointment
- Come back on another day to get braces on
- Exam, digital scan, and your plan and price
- Time for every question you and your family have
- If you’re ready, braces go on or Invisalign starts that day
It’s always your call. If you’d rather think it over, talk with your spouse, or check your insurance first, coming back another day is completely fine. Your consult is free either way. Read more about same-day braces.
Text Us Before You Make an Extra Trip
You can call, text, or send photos to the same number: 540-433-8814. Every message comes straight to our team.
Need to reschedule? Text us. Something with a bracket or wire doesn’t feel right? Snap a photo and send it over.
A loose bracket can often stay in place until your next scheduled visit, so a quick text can save you a drive. Our comfort care guide covers what to do at home in the meantime.
Not sure you need a consult yet? Send us six photos of your smile for a virtual consultation, and Dr. Giardina will go over them with you before you make the drive.
Fitting Orthodontic Visits into a Page County Week
We’re open Monday through Thursday, 8am to 5pm. Most patients come in every 6 to 8 weeks once treatment is underway, so you’re planning a handful of trips a year, not one a week.
For students at Page County High, Luray High, Page County Middle, and Luray Middle, a morning appointment and a late arrival at school is often easier than driving over after the last bell.
Since we’re open Monday to Thursday, schedule your next visit at checkout so it lands on a day that works with your job and the school calendar.
Bringing two kids, or a kid and a parent? Let us know when you call and we can often line up consults back to back, so it’s one trip for the whole family.
Damon braces patients usually come in every 6 to 12 weeks instead of every 4. That’s fewer drives over the course of treatment.

- Board-Certified Diplomate, American Board of Orthodontics
- MSD and orthodontic specialty certificate, Virginia Commonwealth University
- Residency research on screening for pediatric obstructive sleep apnea
- Junior Director, Virginia Association of Orthodontists
Board certification is voluntary, and less than half of orthodontists have earned it. Dr. G passed the American Board of Orthodontics’ written and clinical case exams, graded by a panel of examiners, and keeps it current with renewal every 10 years.
Patients know her for explaining things plainly and never pushing treatment that isn’t needed. More about Dr. Giardina
Braces and Invisalign Options for Page County Patients
Every option below is available at your free consult. Dr. G will tell you which ones fit your bite, and you choose what fits your life.
Damon Braces
Damon brackets hold the wire with a small built-in door instead of elastic ties. Lighter forces and less friction usually mean less soreness after visits, and appointments are typically every 6 to 12 weeks. For a family driving in from Shenandoah or Luray, that adds up.
How Damon braces workInvisalign
Clear, removable aligners you take out to eat and brush. Invisalign Teen has wear indicators so parents and Dr. G can see they’re being worn.
Invisalign for adults Invisalign for teensClear Ceramic Braces
Tooth-colored brackets that are hard to spot in photos. A common pick for older teens and adults who want fixed braces without the metal look.
About ceramic bracesTraditional Metal Braces
Smaller and more comfortable than the braces most parents remember, and reliable for almost any case. Kids can pick new band colors at each visit.
About metal bracesChampagne Gold Braces
The same system as metal braces with soft gold-toned brackets that sit closer to natural tooth color than silver.

Care That Goes Beyond Straight Teeth
Airway screening
Snoring, mouth breathing, and restless sleep can be linked to a narrow jaw. Dr. G's residency research focused on pediatric sleep apnea screening, and she looks for airway signs at every consult.
Early checkups at 7
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic checkup by age 7. Most kids aren't ready for treatment, and they join our free Kids Club for monitoring.
In-house laser
Gum recontouring and soft tissue exposure are done here with a soft tissue laser, so there's no extra referral or separate trip to another office.
